BURLINGTON, VT – Breeze Airways and Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (Leahy BTV) are excited to announce new seasonal non-stop service between Leahy BTV and Charleston International Airport (CHS), launching May 30, 2025.
"Breeze Airways' new non-stop route to Charleston, SC means that, for the first time since 1990, Vermonters can now fly directly to 19 destinations," said Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak."I am grateful for our Leahy BTV team and their ongoing commitment to developing partnerships that enhance travel experiences for Vermonters and visitors."
This latest addition builds on Breeze Airways’ successful launch at Leahy BTV in January 2024. The airline currently offers non-stop service to Tampa (TPA), Orlando (MCO), Jacksonville (JAX), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), and Fort Myers (RSW), with Charleston (CHS) now joining the lineup.
“The addition of Charleston marks another new milestone for Leahy BTV as we continue expanding connectivity for our passengers with direct access to yet another vibrant destination,” said Nic Longo, director of aviation at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport. “With destinations now available across 14 states/districts, we are offering the most extensive network and highest quantity of destinations from Burlington!”
“We have seen great demand for our service from Burlington, and we expect that to continue increasing with this great new route to Charleston,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “We know our Guests in the community love the convenience of flying nonstop from Burlington, and with Breeze’s elevated product offering, travelers are sure to continue enjoying our service from BTV.”
The news comes on the heels of Breeze’s January announcement celebrating its first full quarter of operating profit in the fourth quarter of 2024. The airline announced it achieved an operating margin of more than 4% in the fourth quarter thanks to strong demand for its unique business model, which brings direct air service to unserved and underserved secondary airports on its flagship fleet of Airbus A220 aircraft – one of the youngest, most efficient fleets in the industry. The airline estimates there are hundreds of additional routes in the U.S. alone that could benefit from its unique service, leaving ample room for its continued growth.
Breeze was recently named Startup Airline of the year by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) and recognized as a Four-Star Low-Cost Carrier at the 2025 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Five-Star and Four-Star Airline Awards. The APEX Five- and Four-Star airlines represent the top 100 carriers in the world for passenger experience, with only eight percent of airlines worldwide achieving this status. Earlier this year, Breeze was ranked in the top five of Travel + Leisure’s “Best Domestic Airlines” for the third consecutive year.
Coupled with an elevated experience featuring premium seating options and high-speed WiFi on its fleet of brand-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, Breeze is defining what it means to be “Seriously Nice” in an industry that has been anything but. Breeze offers both bundled and a la carte options so travelers can customize an experience that fits their needs.
