Burlington International Airport (BTV) 100 Year History
BTV is very much Vermont’s airport. Flights approaching for landing treat passengers to breathtaking views of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains — snow capped in winter, alive with fiery color in autumn and covered in several shades of green in spring and summer. Inside the terminal, BTV celebrates Vermont’s distinctive sensibility and showcases its unique and thriving community.
Dining at the airport is a local experience at Skinny Pancake, offering food that is sourced within 90 miles of BTV. Vermont-made products — from specialty food and craft beer, wine and spirits to cozy flannel wear — are abundantly available throughout the terminal. In fact, gift stores who operate at BTV agree to carry local products as 50% of their inventory, making it easy for travelers to bring a little of Vermont home.
