Leahy BTV Navigates Record Day and Gives Thanks to Heritage Aviation, Air Traffic Controllers, and Airport Operations
BURLINGTON, VT – The Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (Leahy BTV) is pleased to share record numbers on April 8th as thousands transcended to the airport to view the Total Solar Eclipse.
Throughout the year, on average, Leahy BTV completes 300 operations a day; operations meaning a takeoff or landing. This past Monday, over 700 operations were completed with zero incidents and zero deviations.
Nic Longo, Director of Aviation at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport, expressed his immense appreciation for the meticulous planning leading up to April 8th.

It may have stretched our operations to its max but showed the capacity Leahy BTV can handle and the skill at which our partners operate at every day. I want to acknowledge the collaborative effort among various airport teams including the Heritage Aviation team, the Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Controllers, and our Airport Operations, Ambassador, Maintenance and Administration teams. It underscores the importance of coordination and preparation for such high-traffic events. It's truly remarkable to see Leahy BTV rise to this incredible level of service and capacity”
