A New Kid Zone at BTV - A public place, post security, at Burlington International Airport for kids to come explore.
A new space was unveiled at Burlington International Airport this summer to give kids a place to place and adults to relax as they travel.
The National Life Let’s Grow Kids Zone is a partnership between National Life Group, Let’s Grow Kids, Burlington International Airport, and Beta Technologies. The Kids Zone includes playscapes that are developmentally appropriate for children while providing incredible views of the runway and the Green Mountains. It also has rocking chairs and charging stations for adults and a state-of-the-art skyscape ceiling thanks to Beta Technologies.
"This is clearly a higher, better use than the conference room it used to be,” said Miro Weinberger, Mayor of Burlington who oversees the airport. “It's a real indication of what the airport team has tried to do over the past decade. I see this as a symbol of the rebirth of this airport."
Also on hand for the ribbon-cutting was Tom MacLeay, former Chairman and CEO of National Life Group, Lead Director of the National Life Board and Chairman of the National Life Group Foundation; Aly Richards, CEO of Let’s Grow Kids; and Nic Longo, Acting Director of Aviation for the airport.
"This is just one element of making sure all of our children have an opportunity to have a high quality childcare experience which we know from the brain science is so important to get off to a good start — you only get one chance," explained MacLeay.
The Kids Zone is open during airport hours and is accessible from any gate.
