Mr. Carman, Deputy Director of Aviation-Operations is responsible for airport operations, security, and airfield maintenance at the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport. Serving nearly 30 years in the aviation industry, he is a commercial pilot, multi-engine instrument flight instructor with thousands of hours of flying experience. He also served as a EMT-Paramedic before pursuing a career in airport management. He worked airport operations at Harrisburg International Airport prior to his role of airport manager at Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport in Vermont. Mr. Carman earned a Master of Aeronautical Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University specializing in Aviation/Aerospace Management, and for several years, served as flight instructor at Kent State University and adjunct instructor at Embry-Riddle teaching Airport Development and Operations. He resides in the State of Vermont with his wife Janine and daughter Elianna.
